Puppets Seek The Talent

Magicians! Singers! Animal trainers! Entertainers! Acrobats! A motley freak show of Czech talent in action! With puppets only! One day, a mysterious manager approaches unsuccessful magician František and offers him a contract resulting in success and popularity. However, the condition is to win the competition called SUPERTALENT. Does František manage to fight his way to the finals? Does he win? And is the victory worth it?

In the Naive Theatre, the team of Tomáš Dvořák staged a purely illusive puppet comedy, which parodies the current boom of talent competitions and reality shows. Dvořák, who has directed a number of internationally acknowledged performances (Ali Baba and Forty Thieves, The Headless Knight, The Little Swan Lake and others), prepared a real puppet delight.

"Peřina-Dvořák–Zákostelecký do not burden the performance with arid moralisation. Their ideas ride really fast on a roller-coaster of comedy where rough grotesque mixes with provocation, irony and black humour."
