About the company

Petr Nikl (1960) is a graduate of AVU Prague, a visual artist, poet, musician and performer.

He has collaborated with the Archa Theatre since 1994, when he created the sets and costumes for Archa’s very first project Opera La Serra. Over the years he has presented his solo performances here and helped create the Toy Dance projects. He also performs at Archa in his audio-visual shows Holiday Pop and Educational Concert.

In 1987 he stood at the birth of the arts group Tvrdohlaví and is a winner of the prestigious Jindřich Chalupecký Award (1995). He has also written books of fairytales and is the author of a concept of interactive exhibitions called Nest of Games (Rudolfinum 2000), The Garden of Fantasy and Music (Czech pavilion at EXPO 2005 in Aichi, Japan), Orbis Pictus and Labyrinth of the World, which tours both the Czech Republic and globally, and most recently Game of Time (2013) and Cockroaches (2014).
