Fear Eats the Soul

Emmi is lonely and getting older. Salem is from Morocco and a full generation younger than she is.

Is Salem a white-tailed baby deer Bambi?

In a cabaret romance with some fairy-tale features with, for the basic starting point, the original screenplay by the legendary lmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder, a tenderly brutal motive of the love encounter of two diametrically di erent worlds comes to life. With Jan Frič‘s ironic detached self-con- dent directing gestation, in the penetrative and imaginative scenography by Jan Štěpánek, and with the participation of an Arabian dance quartet and sound of many hits using contemporary German pop music, a story will be told of which undoubtedly many women have been dreaming: Cinderella past her zenith and a sheik from a car repair shop. Love story in de ance. The story about the barriers thrown under the lover‘s feet by both the envious society and by themselves, and also about love that can move mountains of horrors closer.
