Claudel’s The Break of Noon directed by Hana Burešová is the Performance of the Year

Claudel’s The Break of Noon directed by Hana Burešová in the V Dlouhé Theatre was elected the Performance of the Year 2011 in the poll of the Divadelní noviny/Theatre Newspapers. The second place is occupied by postmodern and controversial King Lear directed by Jan Nebeský in the National Theatre. Leoš by Uhde, Štědroň and Morávek in the Husa na Provázku/Goose on the String Theatre is on the third place. Mikulášek’s Europeana according to Patrik Ouředník’s text in Reduta,Brnoended up on the fourth place.

“These four performances were slightly different from the other ones, however, there was no favourite piece, yet The Break of Noon was an absolute winner,” Vladimír Hulec commented about the 19th poll in the first issue of the professional biweekly. 110 critics, journalists and theatre researchers casted their vote this year and they drew attention to the most interesting, noteworthy, distinct and high-quality performances and projects.
