About us

Theatre.cz is the Arts and Theatre Institute’s (ATI) information portal (www.idu.cz). It is a comprehensive source of news about events in the Czech theatre scene based on information from the Arts and Theatre Institute and the public. The site contains an extensive database on theatre premieres and festivals and a directory of theatres and related institutions. It posts current articles on theatre productions, festivals, exhibitions, and other events that have to do with the theatre. Visitors to the site will also find news about the latest theatre publications, theatre profiles and programmes, a section advertising jobs and items for sale, and announcements calling for participation in Czech and international projects.

The ATI puts together the content of the published databases, catalogues, and directories, runs the Infodesk service, through which people can ask the Theatre Institute’s staff about various aspects of the theatre, and publishes a quarterly newsletter on current events in Czech theatre and culture. Articles can be uploaded to theatre.cz by the public, and registered users can upload information, photographs, videos, and job advertisements.
