About the Production: An adventure based upon the true story of Luboš Jednorožec in the 1950s. Though innocent, he was imprisoned, so he decided to escape, and that marked the start of the hunt for the Unicorn, who alone roams the country, overcoming obstacles of destiny and the snares laid out for him by his enemies. On his quest for freedom the Unicorn meets the villain and liar Slepička and reunites with his family for a short while and finally with his true love Olinka. The noose around his neck keeps tightening, but the brave Unicorn gallops on! This creative musical production was prepared in collaboration with the Post Bellum foundation to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain.
About the Company: Divadlo Minor has for years mainly been puppet and children's theatre. At present the theatre attempts to create performances that attract adults as well as children and are thus geared for the whole family. The themes for the productions are therefore chosen with a view to appealing to both children and their parents, who often enjoy revisiting their childhood memories. The common denominator in all the productions is the original artistic and musical components. Most productions include a live band. In its programme, Divadlo Minor does not aim solely to create puppet theatre but allows its directors and designers to choose the theatrical means themselves. The aim of all the artists is to create a fascinating spectacle and an unforgettable experience. At the same time it endeavours to reflect current events in a light, playful and poetic form.
